Frequently asked questions

Does it work with watches of every brand?

On Android, yes: with any watch or band already paired with your phone over Bluetooth.

On iPhone, with Bluetooth watches and bands that connect to the iPhone through their maker's app. Apple Watch is not supported, because Apple does not let other apps monitor its connection.

Does the watch ring?

No. The phone rings. An app cannot make watches of every brand ring.

Can I set the distance in meters?

No. Bluetooth doesn't measure meters. The link is usually lost between 5 and 10 meters, depending on walls and where you carry your phone.

That's why there are three levels: Near, Medium and Far. Each level changes how long ¡HEY! waits after the link is lost before ringing.

Does it work on any phone?

It works on Android phones of any brand, including the simplest ones, with Android 7 or later and Bluetooth. And on iPhone with iOS 15 or later.

Does it work between two phones?

No. ¡HEY! watches the link between your phone and your watch or band.

Which languages does it support?

Spanish and English. It follows your phone's language, and you can change it in Settings.

How do I pay for “My voice”?

With a one-time in-app payment. Google Play or the App Store charges it, with your account, at the price the store shows you.

If you change phones or reinstall the app, use “Restore purchase” with the same store account.

Does it ring when the phone is on silent?

On Android, the alarm uses your phone's alarm sound. On most phones it rings even in silent or vibrate mode, but not in “Total silence” mode.

On iPhone with iOS 26 or later, it rings like an iPhone alarm, even in silent mode. On iOS 15 to 25 with the app in the background, the alert arrives as a notification and stays silent if the iPhone is in silent mode.

Does anti-theft mode prevent theft?

No. With anti-theft mode on, ¡HEY! asks for your phone's fingerprint, face or passcode to stop the alarm in the app. It does not prevent theft, does not lock the phone and does not locate it.

If ¡HEY! doesn't ring

  • Your phone's Bluetooth is on, and the watch is on and connected to the phone.
  • ¡HEY! is on and today is checked.
  • You granted the permissions the app asks for. You can review them in Settings, under “Permissions”.
  • On Android, the phone is not in “Total silence” mode.

Battery saving on Android

Some brands close background apps to save battery. ¡HEY! tells you when it detects this. In ¡HEY!, open Settings, then “Permissions”, and look for “Background protection”. If your brand allows it, the “Open” button takes you to the right screen. This is what to change for each brand:

Samsung
Battery: Unrestricted. Remove ¡HEY! from Sleeping apps.
Xiaomi
Autostart: on. Battery saver: No restrictions.
Huawei or Honor
App launch: manage manually and turn on all three options.
OPPO, realme or OnePlus
Auto launch: on. Battery usage: allow background activity.
vivo
Autostart: on. High background power use: allow.
Tecno, Infinix or itel
Phone Master: Auto-start on and ¡HEY! unrestricted.
Other brands
Battery: Unrestricted.

On iPhone

  • Don't close ¡HEY! from the app switcher: iOS won't reopen it by itself. If you closed it, open it again.
  • If you turn Bluetooth off and on again, open ¡HEY! once so it keeps watching.
  • Apple Watch is not supported: Apple does not let other apps monitor its connection.
