¡HEY! Privacy Policy
Last updated:
Effective date: October 8, 2026.
1. Who is responsible
¡HEY! is published by GENERADOR EMPRESARIAL DE CODIGOS S. DE R.L. DE C.V. ("Geedgo"), based at Torre Metrópolis, Boulevard Suyapa, Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Geedgo is responsible for the data described here.
This policy explains what data the ¡HEY! app uses on Android and iPhone, what it uses it for and what you can do. It does not apply to the app stores, Google, Apple or the makers of your phone, watch or headphones, which have their own policies. By using ¡HEY!, you accept this policy. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
Contact: soporte@yohey.app
2. In short
- You don't need an account. ¡HEY! doesn't ask for your name, email or phone number.
- ¡HEY! doesn't use your location.
- Your settings and your voice recording are stored only on your phone. Geedgo does not receive them.
- If the app crashes, it sends a technical crash report to Firebase Crashlytics, a Google service, so Geedgo can fix it.
- The app downloads working values from Firebase Remote Config, also from Google, for example how long each distance level waits before ringing.
- No ads and no Google Analytics. We don't sell data. We don't use data to track you across apps or websites.
- The "My voice" and "Pulse" purchase is processed by Google Play or the App Store. Geedgo never sees your card details.
3. Data that stays on your phone
To work, ¡HEY! stores in the app's private space on your phone:
- The device you linked (watch, band or, on Android, headphones): the identifier your phone's system gives it (on Android, its Bluetooth address; on iPhone, an identifier created by iOS), its name and what type of device it is.
- Your settings: whether ¡HEY! is on or paused, the days, the schedule, the distance, the sound, the volume, vibration, the language, anti-theft mode and, if you silenced the alarm, until what time.
- The wait for each distance level, if you calibrated the distance with your device.
- The latest working values the app downloaded (section 5).
- Whether you have unlocked "My voice" and "Pulse".
- Your voice recording, if you made one: audio of up to 5 seconds.
- Control data: which permissions you were already asked for and internal times, for example when it started watching your device, when a pending alarm is due, or when an anti-theft alarm started and what volume the phone had before. They are used to make the alarm work properly and to tell you if your phone closed the app.
Geedgo does not receive this data. The app does not send it to any server.
If your phone's backup is turned on (for example Google's or iCloud's), the system may include this data in that backup. Google or Apple keep that backup in your account, under their own terms. Geedgo has no access to it.
4. Phone permissions
- Bluetooth (shown on Android 12 or later as "Nearby devices"): to see the watches, bands and, on Android, headphones already paired with or connected to your phone, and to know when the one you linked connects or disconnects. ¡HEY! doesn't look for other devices and doesn't read data from your device, such as health data, music or messages. On Android 12 or later, the system may ask you to accept the link between your device and ¡HEY!.
- Notifications: for the alarm and, on Android, for the ongoing notice that shows ¡HEY! is watching.
- Full-screen alarm (Android 14 or later): to show the alarm when the phone is locked.
- Unrestricted battery (Android): so battery saving doesn't stop the alert. You decide whether to allow it.
- Microphone: only while you record "My voice".
- Alarms (iPhone with iOS 26 or later): to ring like a phone alarm.
- Fingerprint, face or passcode (anti-theft mode): your phone's system does the check. ¡HEY! only learns whether it passed. ¡HEY! never sees or stores your fingerprint, face or passcode.
¡HEY! does not ask for location permission.
5. Data that leaves your phone
Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics, by Google). If the app crashes, it sends a technical report so Geedgo can find and fix the error. The report includes: where in the code it failed, the app's state at that moment, the date and time, the ¡HEY! version, the phone model, the operating system and its version, technical device data (memory, free space, whether the system was modified) and two random identifiers of this app installation (the Crashlytics one and the Firebase one). To measure stability, Firebase also sends technical data about the app and the phone, such as the manufacturer, the network connection type and the time the app was opened, with a random identifier for each use.
Reports do not include your name, email, phone number, recording, device name, settings or location.
Working values (Firebase Remote Config, by Google). From time to time, at most every 12 hours, the app downloads values that Geedgo can adjust without releasing a new version, for example how long each distance level waits before ringing. To deliver them, Firebase receives the Firebase identifier of this installation, the country and language set on your phone, the time zone, the operating system version, and the app's identifier and version. Remote Config does not receive your settings or what you do in the app.
As with any internet connection, Google's servers receive your phone's IP address in order to respond.
¡HEY! does not use Google Analytics, advertising services or tracking.
Purchases. "My voice" and "Pulse" are unlocked together with an in-app purchase through Google Play or the App Store. The store processes the payment with your account and under its own privacy policy. ¡HEY! only receives the store's confirmation and saves on your phone that the purchase was made. The stores give Geedgo sales reports for its accounting. Geedgo never receives your card details.
If you write to us. If you email soporte@yohey.app, we receive your email address and what you tell us. We use it only to reply. Before reaching Geedgo's mailbox, the email goes through Cloudflare's forwarding service.
6. What we use data for
Only to make ¡HEY! work, to adjust how it works, to find and fix errors, to help you when you write to us and to comply with the law. We don't use your data for advertising or to build profiles.
7. Who it is shared with
- Google (Firebase), which processes crash reports and working values on Geedgo's behalf.
- Google Play and the App Store, for downloading the app and for purchases, under their own policies.
- Cloudflare, which forwards support emails.
- Authorities, only when the law requires it.
- Another company that keeps offering ¡HEY!, if the app or Geedgo passes to it, for example through a sale or a merger. That company must respect this policy.
We don't sell or rent data.
8. Where it is stored
Google and Cloudflare may store and process the data in sections 5 and 7 on servers outside Honduras, for example in the United States. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from those of your country. Google and Cloudflare apply their own protection measures. By using ¡HEY!, you accept that transfer.
9. How long it is kept
- Data on your phone: until you change or delete it, or uninstall the app.
- Crash reports: Firebase keeps them for 90 days and then starts deleting them from its systems.
- Firebase installation identifier: Firebase keeps it until Geedgo asks for it to be deleted. It then deletes it from its systems within 180 days at most.
- Support emails: as long as needed to handle your request. After that, only what the law requires or what is needed to defend Geedgo's rights.
10. Security
Data that stays on your phone is in the app's private space, which other apps cannot read. Data sent to Firebase travels encrypted. No security measure is infallible and we cannot guarantee total security. We recommend protecting your phone with a screen lock. If we learn of a security issue that affects you, we will announce it at https://yohey.app.
11. Children
¡HEY! is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data. Each store's age rating describes the app's content; it does not mean the app is made for children. If the law of your country sets a higher age to accept these terms, you need permission from your parent or guardian. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child sent us data, for example an email, write to us and we will delete it.
12. Your rights
You can ask us for information about your data, to correct it or delete it, and object to its use. Write to soporte@yohey.app. We reply within thirty (30) calendar days at most.
How to do it:
- What is on your phone is under your control. You can change the settings, delete your recording with "Delete recording" on the "Record my voice" screen, and remove calibrated waits with "Restore defaults". If you uninstall ¡HEY!, your phone deletes all of the app's data, except the backups in section 3.
- If you uninstall ¡HEY!, the app stops sending crash reports and requesting working values.
- For what Google keeps through Firebase, write to us. That data carries no name, email or anything else that shows it is yours, so we usually cannot find the data of one specific person. If so, we will tell you. Crash reports are deleted automatically after 90 days.
- For the emails you sent us, write to us and we will delete them, except what the law requires us to keep.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the competent authority in your country.
13. Changes
If we change this policy, we will publish the new version at https://yohey.app/en/privacy with its effective date. If the change is important, for example if the app starts using new data or using data for other purposes, we will tell you before it applies, at https://yohey.app and in the app's update notes.
14. Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of Honduras, without prejudice to the rights the laws of your country give you.
